This Southern (or Common) Eland is indigenous to the southern and eastern regions of Africa. This stunning bull was captured in East Africa. Their enormous size and distinctive horns, which are usually straight but also have a twist pattern, make them an excellent species to exhibit. (See the pictures attached.) Both males and females have horns that extend from the skull in a big “V.”
The dimensions of the mount are 63 inches high by 31 inches wide and 34 inches deep. He is suspended from a single, securely fastened anchor screw. Considering his size, give him plenty of room to be seen from various perspectives. With his head raised, he is staring into the room to his right.
